August is Black Business Month and we celebrate the many businesses who have led to Shades of Color’s success for the past 28 years! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! 

For many of us, growing up there was one Black-owned store that carried Black/African American products. It was a tradition to start there during the holidays to pick up Christmas cards that looked like your family. African American businesses play a vital role in the community by providing employment opportunities, promoting economic growth, and preserving cultural heritage. 

We are proud to see the staying power and growth of Black-owned businesses in our communities. Our customers all now have a wider net of choices to select from and a larger variety of products designed to exemplify the culture.

African American businesses serve as role models for future generations, inspiring young people to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and contribute to the growth and development of their communities.

We stand here, 28 years and counting, to create a line that celebrates us – our culture, our families, our shared history. With every African American Christmas Card we design, every African American Wall Calendar we partner with Black Artist to create, YOU are at the forefront of every decision! We are, as always, because of you!
